SAN ANTONIO — A Texas couple with four of their own children adopted six biological siblings on Thursday.
When federal worker Michael Hejduk was impacted by the government shut-down last year, he and his wife Heather relied on the help of others, WOAI reported.
As time went on, they started fostering children as a way to give back. On Thursday, those six foster children officially became part of the Hejduk family.
“Pure joy, because they’re our, really,” Heather Hejduk said. “I mean they’ve been ours, but now nobody can change that.”
The adoption proceedings took place through a video conference with more than 50 people attending.
