According to a news release from the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office, on Sunday evening, deputies were called out to a house in Westminister, Maryland, for a missing person report. While they were at the house, other deputies were notified about a motorist of a “suspicious condition” at New Windsor Pike.

CBS News Baltimore reported that deputies arrived at New Windsor Pike and found a deceased man who had been stabbed multiple times and appeared to have been dismembered.

CCSO said that based on the condition of the body, it is hard to positively identify the man but detectives believe it is the man who was reported missing, Maganbhai Pansuriya, 58.

CCSO said deputies executed a search warrant of Maganbhai’s house. The major crimes detectives took his son, Ravi Maganbhai Pansuriya, 29, into custody.

WBFF reported that Ravi was the one who had reported his father missing.

Ravi has been booked on recommended charges of first-degree murder and second-degree murder, according to CBS News Baltimore.

CCSO said that the major crimes unit is continuing to investigate. No further information has been released including a possible motive.

Anyone with information is asked to call CCSO at 410-386-5900 or email Detective Devin Herold at dherold@carrollcountymd.gov.
