371 employees at Tyson Foods plant test positive for coronavirus

NOEL, Mo. — At least 371 employees at a Tyson Foods chicken processing plant in Missouri have tested positive for the coronavirus, company officials said.

Of the 1,142 employees at the plant the company tested from June 17 to June 19, 291 were infected. Of those, 249 were asymptomatic. An additional 80 employees tested positive in separate tests performed by their healthcare providers.

There have been outbreaks at meat processing plants across the country.

Previously, Tyson Foods has had multiple outbreaks at facilities in Tennessee and separate plants in North Carolina.

There are 20,909 confirmed cases and 1,022 deaths from the coronavirus in Missouri, according to The New York Times.
