The Building Buddies traveling exhibition portrays a small community where everyone is busy working on their homes. Different characters, “buddies”, invite young children to play, explore, collaborate, create and learn while improving the “neighborhood”. Briscoe Spring Break Roundup thru May 19, 2022

Hit the trail and head West without ever leaving the River Walk during Briscoe Western Art Museum’s Spring Break Roundup. With arts and crafts, scavenger hunts and earthquakes, capture the excitement and adventure of the West for your spring break, learning about Western lifestyle and seeing the stories shared through Western art brought to life. Briscoe’s Spring Break Roundup offers children and caregivers different activities to enjoy together Thursday, Friday and Saturday of spring break. The come and go program includes activities that celebrate the heritage and culture of the American West. Different activities are being featured each day, giving everyone the opportunity to explore the West in a variety of ways. Spring Break Roundup is included in museum admission, with no charge for craft supplies and no reservations required. However, caregivers must accompany participating children for each activity.

Any Baby Can 18th Annual Walk for Autism 8AM FREE

This fun-filled event is scheduled Saturday, April 2, 2022 from 8 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at Texas A&M University-San Antonio, and brings together hundreds of participants and community partners from across San Antonio, Bexar County, and South Texas to raise awareness of autism spectrum disorder. As an Official Fiesta® San Antonio Event, the Annual Walk for Autism will provide a safe and inclusive environment where all families can enjoy autism-friendly activities, food trucks, entertainment, and critical resources. This will be ABC’s first in-person Walk for Autism in 2 years due to COVID-19, and we are very excited to bring this event back to the San Antonio community. We invite you to register for the Any Baby Can Walk for Autism and create a Walk team at https://runsignup.com/abcwalkforautism. Registration is FREE. We have created several FUNdraising opportunities this year, to include the VIP Village. Teams that raise $1,500 and more will have special access to our indoor VIP reception area. Fiesta de los Niños 10 AM FREE

Fiesta de los Niños is a tech Fiesta for the “Pint-Sized Folks.” A parade will lead the way through Port San Antonio at noon, and there’s lots more to do. Children can enjoy games, STEM activities and rides, all in a safe, alcohol-free environment. Port San Antonio and the San Antonio Museum of Science and Technology (SAMSAT) and partners from the community will host an array of technology demonstrations and hands-on activities for all ages. These will include video gaming, cybersecurity, robotics, virtual reality, aerospace technology and more.

The San Antonio River Foundation, in partnership with the San Antonio River Authority, invites you to participate in the Official Kayaking Event of Fiesta San Antonio, the Mission Reach Flotilla Fiesta. This year’s event will take place on Saturday, April 2nd, at Padre Park from 10:00 am-2:00 pm. This Official Fiesta event gives attendees the opportunity to paddle the San Antonio River with kayaks provided by Mission Kayak. This community-centric event is designed to bring awareness to the recreational opportunities along the Mission Reach of the San Antonio River.

Since 2011, the Fiesta Especial Inclusion Parade has worked to ensure that there’s a Fiesta experience that’s inclusive of people with all types of abilities. INCLUSION is involvement and empowerment, where the inherent worth and dignity of all people are recognized. An inclusive community promotes and sustains a sense of belonging; it values and practices respect for the talents, beliefs, backgrounds, and ways of living of its members. Spectators are invited to bring a chair or blanket, find a spot along the route and enjoy watching the parade go by... at no cost to the family. Free games and activities are available for parade spectators to enjoy in the parking lot of the Windcrest City Hall and food and beverages will be available for sale. This Fiesta season, INCOGNITO will feature the 1st Annual Illuminated Bike Parade with a procession of beautifully illuminated decorative bikes . Join us for live music from URBAN-15′s invigorating dance and drum ensemble, Carnaval de San Anto. This year’s INCOGNITO will be at the historic ELMENDORF LAKE PARK located at 3700 W. Blood donations, especially types O negative and positive, are still urgently needed

Health officials said there is not enough blood on hand to treat trauma cases and patients who need emergency surgeries and procedures. The facilities are open during daylight hours. Same-day appointments and walk-in donations are being accepted. Officials said donors can call 210-731-5590 for information or to make an appointment, or they can visit SouthTexasBlood.org.
