ALL COUNTY AND CITY PARKS CLOSED FOR 4TH OF JULY WEKKENBD
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers announced last week that recreational areas of Canyon Lake would be temporarily closed on weekends "due to safety and environmental impact concerns" in a news release on Tuesday. The closure affects the Guadalupe Trail parking lot. It will be closed on Saturdays, Sundays and major holidays, including the Fourth of July.
San Antonio will not open its public pools as previously planned, the city announced Friday. Eleven pools and five splash pads were scheduled to open on July 3. San Antonio is also prohibiting gatherings of more than 10 people in any city park or plaza.

AUSTIN
Austin’s city parks and recreational facilities will be closed for the July 4 holiday weekend in response to the recent spike in coronavirus cases in Central Texas, the city announced on Monday.
Barton Springs Pool (pictured) and Deep Eddy Pool will be closed until further notice. Travis County officials also said all public parks managed by the county will be closed until July 7.
BOERNE
Boerne City Lake will be closed this weekend, Boerne city officials said last week in a news release. The lake, however, will remain open from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. during the week.
NEW BRAUNFELS
River parks along the Comal River and Guadalupe River within the city limits of New Braunfels are closed until further notice, city officials announced in a news release last Friday.
This includes Prince Solms Park, Hinman Island, River Acres Park and Cypress Bend Park. Other city-owned riverfront property that is controlled or maintained by the city’s Parks and Recreation Department is also closed, including the wading pool in Landa Park, the Garden St. Exit, the Last Public Exit and the area under the Faust Street Bridge.
SAN MARCOS
San Marcos closed its river parks last Thursday until further notice, according to a news release from the city.
River Parks closed: Rio Vista Park, City Park, San Marcos Plaza Park, Juan Veramendi Park, Bicentennial Park, Children’s Park, Crook Park, Dog Beach, Cape’s Dam, Thompson’s Island, Stokes Park, Ramon Lucio Park and Wildlife Annex/Wilderness Park.
