The Bright Shawl Gallery is currently featuring artwork submitted to be considered as cover art for the Junior League’s upcoming cookbook, “Fresh Flavors.” Featuring 26 submissions from eight different artists, the installation features a variety of mediums including oil on canvas, acrylic, graphite on paper, and mixed media. The pieces will be on display at The Bright Shawl Gallery through March 1. The works on display represent the artists’ interpretations of the unique “flavors” of San Antonio or the Junior League of San Antonio. Members and friends of the Junior League will be voting on the submissions to select the winning piece to be featured on the cookbook cover. A total of three pieces will be selected to print throughout the cookbook: the first place piece will appear as the cover art while the second and third place pieces will be placed throughout the cookbook to mark different sections. The Bright Shawl Gallery regularly exhibits and sells works from local artists, offering rotating shows throughout the year. The art may be viewed during The Bright Shawl’s lunch hours, 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Monday through Friday at 819 Augusta Street, near downtown San Antonio.
