The race was a huge success raising over $13,000.00 in support of our mission.  Several runners run in honor of cancer patients, carrying Tibetan prayersOur goal:  The race will raise money to update a radiation facility in Senegal, Africa.  Radiating Hope recently sent an HDR unit to Senegal, which is their first ever brachytherapy unit,  and has been working with the center with training and implementation of HDR brachytherapy. We are looking to support the clinic with ongoing source exchanges as well as helping patients afford their care. In developing countries more people are dying from cancer than HIV/AIDS, malaria, and, Tuberculosis combined. This high death rate is due to lack of availability to life saving cancer treatments...something we can change.  We feel everyone deserves a chance to beat cancer. Furthermore, many patients, pictures below, come for treatment and cannot afford care and go home to die. The price for all the radiation treatments is only $300.00, however with a monthly average income of $100.00 many cannot come up with the money.  I have heard it said, "Not treating cancer patients is inhumane" but this happens everyday in Senegal and throughout Africa, please know that your contribution will be well spent to help save lives. For additional questions please contact us.Dedicate a prayer flag: For an additional $10 you can dedicate a prayer flag for a loved one.  Run in memory or in support of a loved one affected by cancer.
