WHO: The San Antonio Youth Wind Ensemble is gearing up for our THIRD season! Musically passionate students in Middle School, High School and first two years of college are encouraged to audition. WHAT: Auditions/Registration for the San Antonio Youth Wind Ensemble. WHEN: [R] November 1, 2012 from 6pm – 9pm [F] November 2, 2012 from 6pm – 9pm [S] November31, 2012 from 9am – Noon WHERE: Auditions will be held in the Watson Fine Arts Center, Morgan Gallery 100. First floor of the center. TELL ME MORE… Students should be prepared to play 2 major scales, a 2 octave chromatic, play from two contrasting pieces, and be prepared to do sight-reading. Class sessions meet on Saturdays through June. Resident conductor for the SAYWE program is Albert Aguilar. The SAYWE program challenges the advanced middle school and high school musician by playing and performing higher grade music in a variety of performance venues.
