After initially denying it, Val Kilmer has admitted that he WAS diagnosed with oral cancer. Last year, Michael Douglas seemed to accidentally share Kilmer's news when he was asked about Kilmer's whereabouts and replied that Val was:

“dealing with exactly what I had, and things don’t look too good for him.” 

Val Kilmer now says that his tongue is still swollen, but that he is healing all the time. CNN
