Adam Michaels

Adam Michaels is here to help start your morning with great music, fun contests and crazy entertainment news! He's been waking up San Antonio since 2011 and originally on Magic 105.3 in 2009 in the afternoon.

Family Life

Adam is married to his wife Keri and has two kids, a son named Connor and a daughter named Stella. The rest of his family is spread over the state of Nebraska and Michigan.

He's pretty laid back and easy going. While he prefers something funny sometimes he'll watch something dramatic and outrageous with his wife on TV.

High School DJ

Adam got his start on the radio in his hometown of Lincoln, NE while attending High School. While other students filled their weekends with basketball games, movies and the mall, Adam spent as much time as he could learning from the veteran DJs at the station. After working all hours of the day and graduating High School and then College, Adam was hired by then Cox Radio and made the move down to Texas.

Pop Music

Adam loves pop radio. The biggest stars and the best music. He's worked for a handful of stations in his career before landing at Magic 105.3. Everyday is fun and exciting!

Good vs Bad

Breakfast tacos, good. Getting to Bill Miller after breakfast is over, bad.

San Antonio Spurs, good. Dallas Mavericks, bad.

DVR, good. Live TV and sitting through commercials, bad.

San Antonio, good. 1604 during rush hour, bad.

H-E-B, good. Rogue shopping karts around parking lots, bad.

Tea, good. Diet soda, bad.

Mild winters in SA, good. Cedar allergies, bad.

Fiesta, good. Parking at Fiesta parades, bad.

Tower of the America's, good. Getting stuck in the elevator 579 feet in the air, bad.

Wine, good. Nothing bad about wine.

Mike Roberts

The radio career of Mike Roberts, a native of San Antonio by way of Marion, Texas began at San Antonio College. He enrolled in the Radio-TV-Film classes there in the mid-seventies and later graduated from the program with an Associate’s Degree. While attending classes at SAC, he held down an air shift on KSYM and served as the station’s Public Service Director. As his skill level improved Mike was admitted to the internship with KTSA and became a regular performer on the ‘SAC Show’ where he gained much experience while working with experienced pros in a commercial broadcast environment.

While still attending SAC, Mike obtained his first commercial broadcast job as KBOP-AM/FM, Pleasanton in 1976, as afternoon/evening jock and commercial producer. He also ran the board for local sports broadcasts with Greg Simmons as the play-by-play announcer.

Mike’s next stop was KONO-AM in 1978. After briefly serving as the overnight jock, he quickly moved up the roster to become the youngest afternoon drive personality in the city and the station’s Music Director. He was the first KONO jock to play an ‘oldie’ when the station switched from Top-40 to what would later be referred to as the Gold Format.

He then ‘moved across the hall’ to sister station 92.9 KITY-FM for Top-40 afternoon drive duties, later moving to middays and again performing music as Music Director.

After a brief one year stint at KESI-FM (106 FM), Mike’s career flourished while working at 93-Z, KAMZ-FM, El Paso beginning in 1982. Hired for middays, he later moved to after drive and set ratings records while gaining national notoriety as the number 17 rated air talent in the nation 12+. He also voiced and produced station promos during his 3 years there.

Then it was back to San Antonio for what would become a long and successful landing at Hot AC KSMG-FM, MAGIC 105. After a year of building the evening shift up to double digit ratings he was promoted to afternoon drive where again he found ratings success. Several years later he moved to middays and again found ratings success by knocking off long dominant KTFM in the mid-nineties. During his time at MAGIC, the station changed from Hot AC to Oldies and back to Hot AC again. He also appeared in numerous TV commercials supporting major station promotions.

Clear Channel’s KQXT-FM, AC KQ102 was Mike’s next stop. Once again hired for middays, he later moved to afternoon drive during his 3 plus years with the station. While there he was also the station voice for AM 1200 WOAI.

After Clear Channel, Mike returned to MAGIC in 2003 where he is still broadcasting today.
