Apparently, it was really tough finding a cast for the live action version of Aladdin. In fact, over 2,000 actresses read for the role of "Jasmine." In the end, two relatively unknown actors were cast in the lead roles. Mena Massoud was cast as Aladdin and "Power Rangers" actress Naomi Scott will play Jasmine. Will Smith will bring major star power to the role of "Genie," who was voiced by Robin Williams in the initial Disney version.
